Some Bf 110's from post number two! |
This is the 400th post that I've written for Bag the Hun, which just goes to show how much I have enjoyed playing the game, writing scenarios and painting the planes over the last ten years.
It's also just over ten years ago that I started the blog, with a post about Bag the Hun in the number three slot, after another post about air wargaming at number two. It's one of those things that has just not lost its appeal, even after all this time.
In retrospect, I wish I had started blogging a few years earlier, as I had lots of good games of Bag the Hun first edition and other things like AK47 and Back of Beyond going back to when I started wargaming again.
Anyway, here's to another ten years or 400 posts, whichever I get to first?!
Well done Jim!
ReplyDeleteHi Jim, Just wanted to say that I love your blog, and it's inspired my to do a BTH for Battle of Britain in 1:300 this year. Looking back through your posts, you seem to have most of your stuff already painted before your blog started - I don't suppose there's any chance of you posting a (detailed) tutorial on how you paint(ed) your 1:300 planes is there?
ReplyDeleteThanks chaps,
ReplyDeleteIf you have a search for P47 Thunderbolts or FW190's, I think I described how I painted them? If not, have a look at the 1.600th scale things I've done, as the approach is pretty similar.
I really should paint some more 1/300th planes!
And when I do I'll make sure to do a proper step by step explanation.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim! I'm ok with the base colours, but really could do with guidance on how to wash the panel lines! Always seem to get a tide mark around the tops.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 10yrs and lots of interesting content sir. Looking forward to more!
ReplyDeleteI mix in some Future with my washes and always soak up any puddles with a brush before it dries out. That might solve the tide mark problem?
