I used to use Foundry paints a lot but over the last couple of years I've shifted over to Vallejo and Army Painter, largely due to a focus on small scale ships and aircraft. The Foundry three stage paints aren't really necessary for this, so they've been sitting unused on the shelf. They are, however, excellent for figures because you can do layering and shading really easily.
I thought I needed some practise in this, so have dug out a 28mm mountain gun and crew for my Back of Beyond expedition army, which I originally assembled about five years ago but never painted. This will give me a chance to brush up my paintwork before I tackle the 15mm Spanish Civil War army, alongside the AK47 technicals I found the other day.
