I realised today that I haven't painted any 15mm figures for literally years and have bucket loads of them to do for my forthcoming Spanish Civil War project, so I thought it would be a good idea to get in some much needed 15mm painting practice.
I had a rummage around for something that was ready to paint and unearthed four technical trucks for AK47 that I built ages ago using old diecast toys and various bits from Peter Pig, The Scene UK and various other places. I had put them in a drawer full of half finished AK47 things, so dusted them off and decided to make a couple more, so that I had a full militia technical unit.
The ones I made today are a 'Truck with Heavy Mortar', based on a diecast Saviem toy lorry, and an 'APC with Anti-Tank Gun' using an old QRF Soviet heavy tractor vehicle and Peter Pig Russian field gun. In the rulebook there isn't an option for a mortar on a truck but I rate it the same as an AAA armed truck in terms of points.
I will get started on these as soon as I've finished the minesweeper for Cruel Seas! which is now ready for some ink washing and detailing.
Great to see these back again!!
