The Zubuto Army of the People (ZAP) suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Mbote Defence Force (MDF) and Peoples Volunteer Army (PVA) militias this evening, with a definative victory going to the forces of dictatorship and pro-am golfing. It was a bit of a thrashing but I'm sure Colonel Banga Boum will be issuing some suitably revisionist propanganda soon.
Welcome to my blog. I have upwards of 100 projects in various stages of incompletion or total abandonment, so you may well find something of interest if you rummage about a bit. I concentrate on solo air and naval wargaming but other 'skirmishy' things quite often pop up out of nowhere, only to disappear again after something else grabs my attention. I even finish the occasional project now and again!

Jim,
ReplyDeleteOkay, I change my mind, I don't like you anymore. That wasn't a wargame, that was a damn extravaganza! Your table and troops look so good I'm actually embarrassed about my own batreps. Thanks a lot, buddy ;)
So, what was it? Was this a solo game, or opposed? Which side were you playing, and what rules did you use (I know it's labelled AK-47, but I also know you've got quite a few sets of rules lying about)?
I'm sure it was fun, and man does it look great. The Corsair really surprised me, and I love the burned out armored car and barren tree marker/terrain. Can't wait for the next one.
V/R,
Jack
I'd definitely like to see more info on the game itself (i.e. Jack's questions), but that is only because you do such a great job of making it look so good. And I am a big fan of your writing (normally I don't go for that side of things on wargame blogs!). I love all the puns. But I am kicking myself that I didn't guess at the 'Golf War' heading. Should have seen it coming from the previous post!
ReplyDeleteGreat work.
Thanks chaps,
ReplyDeleteI posted this at gone midnight, so didn't have time for a full write up. I'll get on it later today.
The hexon terrain is really good for this sort of game...quick and easy to set up and very adaptable, especially if you get some hills, roads and river sections.
The rules are the 2006 edition of AK47 which you can get as a pdf from Peter Pig - excellent!
Jim umpired the game. 2 players each side.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great deal of fun so many thanks to Jim for running the game.
Beautiful looking game and miniatures. Look forward to the write-up of the battle. Thanks for sharing your game.
ReplyDeleteI'd be so tempted to adjust the rules to use the hexes for movement and gun ranges...
