AK47 Autumn Assault
The QRF stuff arrived today so I had a crack at assembling the GAZ 69 staff car, complete with General Papi Mpongo and bodyguard. As expected there was quite a lot of flash and a few gaps but, on the whole, it turned out rather well.
I moved the passenger seat to the rear end of the vehicle and trimmed it to fit in between the wheel arches, so that the General Mpongo could ride around in style. A driver and bodyguard were added to the front seats, with a bit of surgery required to swap heads and truncate the dangly bits. The windscreen was broken so I cut it down to just the dashboard and left the rest of it off.
I should be able to get it painted up pretty quickly, in between the all the other things I have on the go at the moment. The AT-T half track trucks, which are very impressive bits of lead to say the least, have been sidelined for the moment as I have a lot of other things to do.
The priority is to get the bases finished on the AK47 units and I've made some progress in this direction already, with the infantry bases all textured and waiting for an over wash basecoat of Vallejo English Uniform. I have a late meeting tomorrow night so don't expect to get much done but the rest of the week is clear so it's time to crack on!
